UC Hastings College of the Law is continuing to expand its academic support staff. We are currently hiring an Academic & Professional Success Specialist for the Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP). Please pass the attached posting along to any and all who might be interested in applying.
Interested applicants should send a resume and cover letter to a resume and cover letter to Academic & Professional Success Program Coordinator Katharine Mason at firstname.lastname@example.org.
LEOP is our opportunity program for students who have experienced significant obstacles—educational, economic, social, or physical—that have restricted their access to academic opportunities and resources. Students admitted through LEOP have access to various academic support resources, including a pre-orientation program, a peer-based mentoring and tutoring program that includes class-specific weekly tutorials and practice exams, study skills workshops, and bar readiness programming.
Working under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Dean for Academic & Professional Success and the LEOP Director, the LEOP Academic & Professional Success Specialist will assist in the design, development and implementation of new and existing academic skills and bar passage support programs and workshops targeted at LEOP students, provide 1:1 academic support to individual students, supervise student workers, and collect and analyze program data. The position is thus a combination of program administration and direct student tutoring.
